It is a life changing appliance and it is a great deal.

they are awesome, but make sure you get a bowl lift and not a stand lift model. I have a Professional 600 and that thing is a beast. The artisan is just kind of “meh”

I needs one of thems badly. Unfortunately (fortunately?) my lawn mower has taken to leaking oil out of every orifice and needs to be replaced before I can get a mixer
Thinking of going electric
![]() 05/12/2015 at 13:48 |

Then buy a pasta roller attachment and an ice cream frozen bowl thing and never leave your house again.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 13:48 |

Nah, the Artisan is plenty for most purposes. I can make enough dough for four pizzas, 45 pancakes or 5lbs of meatballs in it no problem. Is the bowl lift better? Probably. Are you being intentionally obtuse? Probably.

I’d go electric if I had a smaller yard and/or more outdoor plugs.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 13:49 |

Whoa intentionally obtuse?
SHOTS FIRED
![]() 05/12/2015 at 13:52 |

You need the meat grinder/sausage stuffer for maximum shutinness.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 13:53 |
|
Sorry, I’ll dial it back a bit. It’s been a stressful day at work.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 13:53 |

Actually I am not being obtuse for the sake of it. I have plenty of experience with the Artisan and have seen them fry trying to make anything more than enough pizza dough to make 2 pies, which is why I got the big boy (I make 3 pies at a time usually). I have a stand lift also, but you will never kill this thing - EVER. The 600 is noisy as hell so that is why I keep both
![]() 05/12/2015 at 13:55 |

That’s the sexiest mixer I’ve ever seen.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 13:56 |
|
Then you can make your own ravioli!
![]() 05/12/2015 at 13:56 |

Yeah man, come on, we’re all friends here.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 13:57 |

I think the reason why I love it so, is that the bearing in the base plate might be THE finest bearing I have ever witnessed. Spin it and it will still be moving hours after you walk away. Also much quieter than a Kitchenaid of any persuasion
![]() 05/12/2015 at 13:57 |
|
Sorry man sometimes I just get passionate about a subject and get carried away.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 13:59 |
|
This is one of those times where you can say that they don’t make them like they used to and it is true and sad.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:00 |
|
Also, I’m sorry I called you obtuse. It really upset Montegoman and it was not appropriate.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:00 |
|
Also, why didn’t you tell us before Mother’s Day?!
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:05 |
|
yeah, it really is the truth. I got by on that being my only mixer for ages and it just keeps taking a beating. Actually check this out - I still have the juicer attachment as well for it (though the large bowl was shattered by my ex :( and the white glass replacement is just a bitch to find )
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:05 |
|
I threw one on our wedding registry going on 8 years ago and it still runs like a champ.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:07 |
|
nah, I get just as passionate and probably sounded dickish. All good. I just have alot of experience with different mixers and kitchen stuffs so I do actually know my shiz when it comes to them
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:07 |
|
My mom has one of those and then I found one at an estate sale, that mixer won’t die. The bearing on the bowl plate feels like it was made by Rolex.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:09 |
|
nice! Good to know they were all like that. Great little machines. Do you have any of the attachments also? I just took a shot of my juicer and replied back with it to CG
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:09 |
|
Less than impressed with the Artisan mixer, the connecting pin keeps getting loose and I’ve had to take the back plate off to get the multi speed part working again. That being said it is pretty nice and better than a plug in drill with a paddle.

You two calm the hell down
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:13 |

No attachments, just the beaters. She has all the white bowls since it was a hammy-down from her aunt. I’m thinking yours is 1940’s and ours are 1950’s.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:14 |
|
We have a stand-lift KitchenAid that we got for free when my aunt upgraded to the 8qt monster. It’s survived at least 5 Thanksgivings with only a minor rebuild during the offseason.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:16 |

U WOT !!! are you talkin bout my artisan mixer m8!!! I’ll shoot you with my navy sneals siper rifle.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:16 |
|
AGREED. Anyone have any of the attachments? I want to make my own pasta and sausauges.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:18 |
|
probably - model E. My girls mom just bought a G that I pegged in the 60’s+ but it ends up being late 40’s
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:19 |
|
dont run over the cord also having a cord majorly sucks maybe I just hate mowing the lawn anyways.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:20 |

I inherited mine - used weekly by my grandfather. Even came with the owners manual, dated 1982. Still works perfectly.

My daughter gave a review. She says go big or go home :D
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:24 |

that is the first hamilton beach item that I have seen that doesn’t look like it was made in a chinese plastics factory. Mighty impressive.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:26 |
|
Also you can see I like to kick it pretty old school in the kitchen. 70’s sub zero, ‘49 Chambers model 90C
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:36 |
|
My Mom has had one for...I think damn near as long as I’ve been alive. That thing is a tank.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:36 |
|
Hey, fuck you!
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:38 |
|
Those bowls are a bitch to replace. Whoever thought heavy glass bowls were a good idea for mixers is an idiot.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:39 |
|
I didn’t think you were being dickish at all I was just giving you crap because that’s what I do. I’m continuing this charade to give MotegoMan a hard time also.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:40 |
|
They weren’t on sale for mother’s day. Buy one and pack it away for next time haha.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:41 |
|
If you get in contact with kitchenaid they will possibly replace it.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:42 |
|
I’ve got the ice cream maker. I’m less than impressed with it. Want the pasta maker hard.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 14:42 |
|
They don’t make them quite like they used to but still a quality product.

My mom had one last her for at least 20 years. The motor starting shaking more than it used to a couple of years ago, so we got her one of the massive 6 quart ones for christmas. It weighs a ton but I don’t think it will ever die.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 15:05 |

These things are not only tough as a P-47 made of unobtainium, they can be rebuilt in the rare case where something wears out. If I hd to pick only one kitchen appliance, it would be this one.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 15:41 |

I'm thinking of getting one of those fancy Kobalt units with the rechargeable Li-Ion packs
![]() 05/12/2015 at 18:12 |

I love mine. Runs like a champ, even after all the action it saw flying over Rangoon.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 18:54 |
|
hmm neat. lemme google that and be right back.
![]() 05/12/2015 at 19:09 |

I’m wanting
this one
, but will probably end up with
this one
because it’s cheap
![]() 05/12/2015 at 22:27 |

I would soup it up with a solar panel and a AC system and chilled cup holder and mow like 1/4 of the lawn before the battery fails.
